653223 2008-03-27 02:26:00 Anyone know how to add the paste special command (and perhaps specifically HTML format to unformatted text), or any short cut to the mouse right click menu? Frequently I copy company/government agencies, contacts, etc from seek/trademe/agency sites into Word for part time job applications/information. I was shown this a few years back at work, but I have forgotten. I know you go tools - customize, but get stranded...

Word offers not much apparent help, and can't find much in Google yet...

653224 2008-03-27 02:34:00 Try pasting it to and from Notepad. That converts it to plain text and therefore all formatting.

Not really what you wanted but it's a handy trick to have nonetheless!

653225 2008-03-27 10:01:00 Hmm, Word 2000 I don't know.

In Word 2007, whenever you have some formatted text, there is an option on the Home Page under Paste for Paste Special --> Unformatted Text

I know in Word 2003 you could do this as well, maybe in Insert?

That can be done in Word 2000 also (Edit>Paste Special>Unformatted Text)

653228 2008-03-27 20:33:00 Well thanks for the ideas (The insert idea adds a bit of a clue). Come to think of it, I'm sure a article from a NZ PC World editor wrote how to add menu/file short cuts to mouse right clicks a while back. Maybe they store these articles on their servers for retrieval? kahawai chaser (3545)
653229 2008-03-27 22:20:00 Have a look at this tutorial at Word MVP (www.word.mvps.org) site. The trick is you need to customise the "Short-Cut Menu" as it controls the right click menu.

Thanks heaps Dave for the link- That's the command I remember for the right click short cut menu. I will implement it...
