355448 2005-05-15 21:47:00 Yesterday, Sunday, friends told me that it took 6 hours for one text message to be passed on, in Dunedin. And I had to wait 30 minutes in order to successfully send a text from Masterton to Auckland. :annoyed:

It seems the free weekend texting is overloading the Vodafone system.
Anyone else have problems on the weekend?

355449 2005-05-16 01:44:00 Yes.. but I'm on Telecom and I couldnt send out txt's to anyone on Vodafone bob_doe_nz (92)
355450 2005-05-16 02:27:00 I had no problems at all over the weekend, all txt's received instantly, including those from our pager system at work.

That said, txting is not guaranteed as an instant alert service, there are often delays for messages to be received.

Quite right. I often forget that texting and email is not always instant, or 100% reliable.
