I just picked up the 2005 Phone book for manawatu, now, im not sure if its the same with phonebooks around the country, but...why are the designs on the front of the phonebooks always so.....crap. Im a second Year Design student, i should be embracing these.....but there just so.......crap. anyone else realised this ? |

| 354211 | 2005-05-11 16:29:00 | Probally picked the winner from a contest of primary school kids. Next time you see a little kid you can tell them you have a lot of training in design work and quite frankly you are much better at drawing than they are. :D |

| 354213 | 2005-05-11 21:48:00 | Yep. Here in the Wairarapa, not long ago, we had a shocking bit of 'art' on the cover. I had to cover it up so I did not vomit for the entire year. Local committees choose the art for the covers. Find out who are on the committee (just ring the local art museum - they will know), so when they choose the next one, you can avert another disaster next year. Also, write a letter to the editor of the local newspaper - maybe after speaking with the chairperson of the art committee - quote whatever excuse they feed to you. |

I mean, Im no engineer, am I allowed to say I think the Taurus is a pig ugly car? I'm no landscape gardener but I think my back yard is poorly done, I don't know much about computers ,am I allowed to say Dells are awesome machines? Art and Art lovers would have to be one of mankinds biggest jokes. |
