| 354194 | 2008-10-30 23:50:00 | I wish to withdraw my previous reservations about Telecom vis-a-vis the data cap and line speed. I have always been on the full speed service, up and down, and my cap was recently increased from 2Gb to 10GB, followed by availability of an adsl2 speed increase, both at no extra cost. I haven't got round to actioning the adsl2 upgrade yet, but I will over Xmas and I am sure I will remain a satisfied customer. I reckon that most adsl speed and reliability problems are caused by inappropriate phone wiring systems, excessive distance from the exchange and junk modems. RWIN makes a difference too, or at least it did for me. Put in a dedicated adsl feed from a POE splitter, use a good quality modem, set up your computer properly and most of your problems will simply go away. However his cap is also only 10GB and at that speed (1280Kbytes/s) it would take him only 2 hours to almost use the entire month's cap... |
