I don't hate Telecom because I can't work up the fever for it but I do think they are a pack of thieving swine. TRUE STORY Person I know wanted the phone on. Technician from a subcontracting company turned up , Downers, spent about an hour and a half crawling around and plugging things and all that (no trenching) and then said "Give me $230 cash now and that'll come off your connection fee Ok cash deal know what I mean nudge nudge wink kinda thing get you a cheaper price." The connection fee from Telecon was seven hundred bucks. Sounds way too much to me even for a rural area and OK you might be thinking well that's not Telecom no muggins it's not but the way this empire operates is to subcontract to people who are prepared to employ crooks. All in it together as far as I see, united against the consumer. Anybody who disagrees is a: a telecomperson b: a Downers person c: owns shares in either (don't know if Downers is listed) d: a mug. :angry |

| 354193 | 2008-10-30 20:56:00 | I wish to withdraw my previous reservations about Telecom vis-a-vis the data cap and line speed . I have always been on the full speed service, up and down, and my cap was recently increased from 2Gb to 10GB, followed by availability of an adsl2 speed increase, both at no extra cost . I haven't got round to actioning the adsl2 upgrade yet, but I will over Xmas and I am sure I will remain a satisfied customer . I reckon that most adsl speed and reliability problems are caused by inappropriate phone wiring systems, excessive distance from the exchange and junk modems . RWIN makes a difference too, or at least it did for me . Put in a dedicated adsl feed from a POE splitter, use a good quality modem, set up your computer properly and most of your problems will simply go away . Cheers Billy 8-{) :2cents: |
