653454 2008-03-28 05:31:00 Almost. The current maximum for a Pro desktop is 32GB of RAM (for now) which costs around $18,000 NZ for the cheapest stuff with the right specs.

Depending on what you use your computer for, that should actually pay for itself before too long.

Well since the price of 32GB of RAM is between $16 and $18K as previously mentioned, should you choose to get the full 32GB

A Mac Pro tower
* Two 2.8GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon “Harpertown” processors
* 2GB memory (800MHz DDR2 fully-buffered DIMM ECC)
* ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT graphics with 256MB memory
* 320GB Serial ATA 3Gb/s 7200-rpm hard drive1
* 16x double-layer SuperDrive

Priced from NZ$ 4,699.00
Up to 4TB storage, RAID, and SAS.
Bearing in mind that the set up is for HD video editing rather than gaming.
Apple don't do servers any more just the Leopard server software which is $999.00 for unlimited clients which is cheaper than anything that MS do.

Unfortunately the article doesn't give a PC equivalent otherwise I would post that too.
