Try deleting that USB device and reboot see if it comes back Speedy - when you suggest 'that USB' - I've got heaps of USB connections. :crying I wonder which particular one you think I should delete and reboot - all, just a particular one??? As an aside - during the 'first' installation of XP I had forgotten my wireless mouse and had taken out all USB connections! Caused me a few moments of angst remembering keystrokes! It is said 'We learn by our mistakes'! |

| 653438 | 2008-03-28 01:40:00 | Yay - I've got sound! And my important HDD with pics etc. Happiness reigns.:clap :clap I searched for and downloaded Realtek ac97 driver - and that cured the problem. I am also halfway through wireless networking - always makes a bit cranky!:( So - we're (and I mean you too!) are getting there! |

But hey - it worked! :) PS - I'm ever so grateful for all your patience - the other half ('Himself') is not near so patient - especially when I have him crawling under the desk finding/sorting cables! |
