653310 2008-03-27 19:46:00 Did you uninstall all of the other drivers, before u installed this one?? Speedy Gonzales (78)
653311 2008-03-28 03:15:00 um, noob question alert!!!!! How do I uninstall the old drivers?? I havn't done any uninstalling to do with this issue. springa886 (10558)
653312 2008-03-28 03:59:00 So you've been installing these audio drivers one after the other, without uninstalling any of them before you tried the next driver?

BAD IDEA !

I dont know wherever add/remove programs is in Vista. Or whatever it uses.

Look for the audio drivers u installed (ALL of them). And uninstall them

Then reinstall the file I posted.. Then see if it works

If that doesnt work uninstall that too

653313 2008-03-28 04:17:00 You ask where to get the Realtek drivers from.
Easiest way is with a search engine like Google.
This will refer you to www.realtek.com.tw/downloads .
The Vista drivers were there a few minutes ago when I looked.

653314 2008-03-28 04:17:00 Add/remove programs in Vista are located ---- Start/control Panel/Programs and Features - Select program/ Click Uninstall Button (www.imagef1.net.nz) in Menu Bar. wainuitech (129)
653315 2008-03-28 04:53:00 Okay, cheers wainuitech for that, helped heaps. Pentium, I tried those but they dont work, and speedy, i uninstalled the only driver in the list (the AC'97one, the first one i installed) then downloaded the one from your link and installed it and got the same message as earlier. It doesnt get to finish installing so i dont need to uninstall it. Any other ideas? springa886 (10558)
653316 2008-03-28 04:58:00 Oh.

So that message you posted about that missing file comes up while its installing, not after it installed and you rebooted?

I've got that file in one of my folders (zipped for another mobo). Whether it works with Vista is another matter

I think its for the other mobo here, which uses Soundmax drivers

653317 2008-03-28 05:01:00 Yeah, while it's installing.
I'm just trying the other one that i tried while I still had the first one installed.... slow download!!!
