| 653411 | 2008-03-27 21:21:00 | Hi, just looking at them, it appears they have PCI-X-1 and PCI-X-2 now .. so ... does that mean they won't work with standard PCI slots, would this create some difficulty or have manufacturers added PCI-X cards for tv tuners and stuff like that? Thanks. |

I don't purchase major computer parts that regularly - I tend to hold onto the comptuer a bit longer .. But if I were to buy today, it would be something that supports Quad CPU, eSATA, and a later chipset - 790FX if not mistaken if under the AMD chip or similarly with the Intel chip if I choose to go that way. I think ti was the ASUS deluxe board. I think both of them not have PCI :confused: |

| 653418 | 2008-03-28 03:15:00 | I have a related question. What uses PCIe-1 slots? and what do you use them for? Some motherboard come with 1, 2 or even 4 PCIex1 slots..? | han308 (7457) | ||
| 653419 | 2008-03-28 04:53:00 | At a guess here. I think that over time manufacturers have been developing PCI-X1 or 2 for other peripherals. Maybe PCI is slowing going away like in the past days of ISA. 2 or 4 of those slots are for SLI interface - where you combine the same video card and use 2 together or even 4 together. |
