| 356238 | 2005-05-18 06:20:00 | Does anyone know were I can buy some reasonably priced downlights, as I have the 60w bulb types in 120mm holes. Ideally I would like to fit halogen ones, but need to fill the bigger holes that are already there, as the halogen ones are smaller. Require 3 at the moment but will probably convert the rest of the other ones in the house at a later date, would prefer the ones that don't need a transformer | micky (7329) | ||
| 356239 | 2005-05-18 06:28:00 | Places like alpha Lighting or Lighting Direct sell them for a pittance these days, just don't expect them to last forever. Downlights are not too good for general lighting either, so you might want to take advice about suitable fitting types for your home. As a general rule only low voltage halogens require transformers so no worries there. I wouldn't try to use halogens for general lighting either, so I say again, take professional advice. I used to part own a lighting shop and it was amazing what some people wanted to use to light large areas of their home. They'd select fittings suitable for a 60w lamp in a toilet and want to put that in the middle of their lounge!! Cheers Billy 8-{) |
