I did some googling but never found anything that relates to this problem (Error Code 0x80070003).

Any other ideas??

BTW, thanks very much for putting up with all my silly questions and also for all the help you have given me, I would have given up a long time ago if it wasn't for your advice.

654262 2008-04-16 11:51:00 1. Right click the folder where your site is located: "C:\Users\NAME\SiteName" and selecting Properties

2. Select the Security tab and click on Edit

3. Add.. and type in "IIS_IUSRS"

You should be good to go.

This might work. Change C:\Users\NAME\SiteName to C:\Windows\ehome\BladeRunnerPro.

Please note that I do not know whether this will introduce any security risks or not..

PS: the reason I never had such a problem is that I have turned User Account Control (UAC) off on my machine, this is not really recommended though...

654263 2008-04-16 11:56:00 UAC, is that something to do with the annoying pop-ups asking me to confirm what i already confirmed??

P.S I tried adding IIS_IUSRS and nothing changed. Still the same error coming up. I didn't put in the "s if that matters.

P.P.S Then, I tried giving IIS_IUSRS full control, and still nothing. Should I undo these changes??

Yep, that's the one alright...

Ahh well, it was worth a try. You probably should undo the changes if they haven't helped.
Probably the thing to try now is turning off UAC. To do this, go: Start > Control Panel > User Accounts and Family Safety > User Accounts. Click "Turn User Account Control on or off", and uncheck the box.

654265 2008-04-17 10:40:00 Hey Sherman, I turnedUsear Account Control off and tried that site again, still no good. :(

Should I turn it back on?
springa886 (10558)
654266 2008-04-17 13:40:00 Damn! You seem to be having trouble with IIS. I don't know what's wrong here.

So, lets forget all about IIS and use Apache instead.

1st we need to disable IIS. Do this the same way you enabled it.

Install Visual C++ 2008 Redist (www.microsoft.com)

Second, Download and install apache2.2 for windows. get it here (httpd.apache.org). The lonk you want is where it says

Win32 Binary without crypto (no mod_ssl) (MSI Installer): apache_2.2.8-win32-x86-no_ssl.msi

Run the installer, accepting default options.

Now comes the "hard" part

httpd.conf needs to be edited. It resides in C:\Program Files\Apache Software Foundation\Apache2.2\conf

2 lines need to be edited in this file. You will have to scroll down until you come to

DocumentRoot "C:/Program Files/Apache Software Foundation/Apache2.2/htdocs"

change it to

DocumentRoot "C:/Windows/ehome/BladeRunnerPro"

Scroll down a bit further to where it says

# This should be changed to whatever you set DocumentRoot to.
#
<Directory "C:/Program Files/Apache Software Foundation/Apache2.2/htdocs">

Change the <directory ........> bit to

<Directory "C:/Windows/ehome/BladeRunnerPro">

Save the file, and exit notepad.

The last thing to do is double-click the "running all apache services" icon in the system tray, and click the restart button.

Now you can test the links again (they will not have changed at all.)

PS: Using Apache instead of IIS does not change any of the other steps needed to get a guide in Media Center

[EDIT: While probably not good practice to do so, I wouldn't worry about verifying the downloaded file for this type of use, although if ou wish to do so, you are most welcome.]

654267 2008-04-18 08:05:00 Hey Sherman, I was installing Apache and it asked me for a domain name and server name and admin address. I don't know much about domains and servers and I just made something up and continued past it, is that okay or should I have entered the correct info?

After I entered that info, a screen popped up and said something about "these errors have to be corrected before continuing," then another one came up saying something about an invalid server or domain and it changed it to 10.1.1.3, is that okay?
springa886 (10558)
654268 2008-04-18 08:17:00 I continued on with the bogus domain and server name entered and got a HTTP 404 Error on that first link!!

I'm not sure if Apache restarted wheni clicked the restart button because it didn't do anything. The screen just stayed there and didn't change.

Edit: HTTP 404 Error on both of the links.
springa886 (10558)
654269 2008-04-18 08:34:00 Another way to restart apache is to click the start orb, and type in services, then press enter.
The apache service will probably be at the top of the list. to restart it, right-click it and choose 'restart'.

Check also in your httpd.conf that those two lines I pointed out match the location of where the BladeRunnerPro folder is on your system.

654270 2008-04-18 08:55:00 Alright, I restarted Apache and tried both the links and they both work!!! STOKED!!!

So I guess I should carry on thru the guide and finish the setup (unless I have any more problems!!!)
