654221 2008-04-01 06:15:00 ohh cool, that'd be great. This is how far I got with BladeRunner Pro (version 3.5 BTW.) In Media Centre, when I go to "Set Up Guide Listings," I choose my region, download TV setup options, agree to the T&C's, choose download when connected and then enter my postal code (does this have to be correct?? or should I use Auckland's code or something?) then when I click next it goes to the "Download Provider Information" screen, pauses for a bit and then displays: Download Incomplete. Guide listings could not be retrieved. Internet connection failure. Details: Unknown discovery service error. Code: 14.

I googled this error and it says that it's caused from the time and date not being set right. I set it to the same time and date as Teletext and still no good.

654222 2008-04-01 06:21:00 Yeah, I had the same error when I tried it.

I've been doing some looking and it looks like v3.5 is NOT compatible with Vista. Seems you have to use v3.

Will post an update later when I get it working.

654223 2008-04-01 07:05:00 I changed to v3 and have the same problem. springa886 (10558)
654224 2008-04-01 07:47:00 You do have to set the region to Australia or UK and postcode of 0000 if it asks.
I'm gonna build a temp machine in the next couple of days and will have a go at setting it up again.

654225 2008-04-01 08:37:00 As I understand it you must use BladeRunner Pro 3 rather than 3.5 with Vista (as you are). I am not familiar the xml source program you are using but there are also some registry changes that you need to make to get Vista to look in the right place for the "new" guide data (and not continually go back to the "official" source). Have a look here www.boozoo.reven.co.nz (and then the Vista guide at the bottom) to see basically how it is done with xmlTVNZ. This is going to be Revens new site and is still under construction at the moment. Unfortunately the setup guide on the old site (reven.co.nz) is not quite as good. As I mentioned before this guide still needs a few tweaks for SP1.
Also as Sherman mentioned before http://www.xpmediacentre.com.au/ is probably your best source for more info

654226 2008-04-02 09:02:00 Hey, just an update, no closer to getting the problem solved. I keep running into different problems. I am following the instructions on This link (www.boozoo.reven.co.nz), and I get up to step 3/b and get the error "The update does not apply to your system," from both versions of the .exe file (I am running 32bit but thought i'd give the 64bit a go.) Anyone know whats up with that? springa886 (10558)

It means just what the message says...
From memory, there was an update come through a little while back for MCE that included that update.
Either that or SP1 has.
It basically means the fix has already been applied somehow.

As to myself, I was having trouble getting bladerunner pro to read my xmltv source last night, and haven't had time to work on it today.

654228 2008-04-02 09:45:00 okay, I have SP1 so i'll presume that the update is already installed. I continued down the page, following the instructions, and am up to step 10. I click on the links and get this error: Server ErrorInternet Information Services 7.0

654229 2008-04-02 21:50:00 As mentioned the guide was written pre SP1. I'm not quite sure what is wrong but you may want to have a look here. www.xpmediacentre.com.au

Hopefully you may be able to apply the new registry patches and then get things back on track from Step 3 of the setup guide.

654230 2008-04-03 03:40:00 Well, I'm getting there..
I found out what BRP was choking on, and fixed it. I also managed to get a working guide in Media Center!!
Then Media Center decided next time it opened it would reset things back to default.....
So once I've straightened out this particular kink, and finally find the optimum xmltv source, I'll post back on my findings.
