| 654911 | 2008-04-01 05:10:00 | It occurred to me that I could put my old (and now replaced C Drive - IDE type) in a drive enclosure and use it USB for extra external storage. But what size of enclosure? Would it be a 3.5 (the old drive says 3.5 series on the bottom)? Or have I got that totally wrong? And suggestions for brand? I'm not looking for something that would be used often. As always - TIA. |

| 654912 | 2008-04-01 06:14:00 | yep you got it, a 3.5" USB External IDE drive enclosure. I have used quite a few in the past, some have all sorts of fancy back up buttons that always seem to fail sooner or later. I have 3 that I currently use, 1 x 80Gb 1 x 160Gb and 1 x 250Gb - The enclosures are of the Digitus Brand, never missed a beat and outlasted all the others I have tried. |

| 654913 | 2008-04-01 06:21:00 | Thanks for that info. :) On looking, I see Ascent doesn't have any of that brand. There is a ST Lab or a NuSLIM one for $50. There doesn't seem too much offering, and some much more expensive than that. No Digitus:( |
