| 654646 | 2008-03-31 20:14:00 | Are there any known issues with installing Office 2007 on a PC if you want to keep Office 2003 Pro as well?? I'm keen to learn more about 07 (mainly Excel at this stage), but I need to keep 03 Pro fully functional for production work. Got plenty of open licenses to play with, so licensing isn't an issue. |

I'm pretty sure you CANNOT have Outlook 2003 & 2007, its one or the other, so if you want to keep outlook 2003, when installing Office 2007, select customize installation and untick/remove outlook 2007 from the install . |

Except of course having Outlook 2003 and 2007. I suggest you don't install Outlook 2007 now until you are totally comfortable with the whole Office 2007 interface. |

Everything kept defaulting to 2007 and I couldn't stipulate when I wanted to use 2003. It caused me no end of trouble so I ended up installing 2007. | andrew93 (249) | ||
| 654651 | 2008-04-02 02:05:00 | I took a look a while back at Access 2007, it sure looks weird compared to Access 2003 and earlier. If/when I update it is going to be a bit of a learning curve switching my complex Access 2003 database over. |

Yes, I've just installed Access & Excel 07, and am struggling with them now. Both versions of Excel seem to be treated as being the same; i.e. if you try to re-assign .XLS files to open with the EXCEL.EXE located in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE11 (the 03 version), it still insists on opening it in Excel 07. There's a registry hack on the net, which you can batch; I'll see how that goes. |

| 654653 | 2008-04-02 03:43:00 | Righto - think I've got both Excel versions to play nicely: - Install 07 into it's own directory - Add the reg mod described here ( . herbtyson . com/2007/04/15/word-2007-and-word-2003-coexisting/" target="_blank">word2007bible . herbtyson . com) (but change it to suit Excel) - Run both versions to make sure the reg mod is working - Run the older version (03 in my case) and run Detect and Repair Working perfectly for me (at this stage . . . . . ) |
