356449 2005-05-18 16:04:00 Well well well, to combat Telecom's $10 txt, we all know that Vodafone have brought out free txting on the weekends. All that said, me and other people have noticed that because of the free txting, Vodafones servers are chocked to death over the weekend and messages take 10 minutes up to two hours to get to people and you get Error messages on your phone when trying to send messages. What I am thinking is ... Has Vodafone done this knowing very well that the servers may not be able to handle the txting load, people will get inoyed and just ring instead???

Or are me and my mates imagining things and no one else has noticed this problem. Talking about Auckland here btw :p

Cheers

James

356450 2005-05-18 21:57:00 One wonders...

Maybe this is a way for the NZ Vodafone managment to convince the Vodafone International corporate bean counters that they need more $$ to upgrade the network here???

Whatever, we all love competition, right? Ever imagine what cellphone service would be like if we only had Telecom? :horrified

356451 2005-05-19 02:09:00 I dont mind, Im on the $40/month Motormouth, so I get 200 (400 for the first 3 months) minutes to other Vodafone mobiles whenever the heck I like.

I call anyway, you can say a lot on 60 seconds ;)

356453 2005-05-19 05:58:00 Its because people send a lot of CRAP (READ: SPAM) around. People are idiots, it'll kill the system and vodafone will end up restricting it again.

I havn't noticed any problem with sending messages, not that I send many anyway...

356455 2005-05-20 05:43:00 There was a problem that first saturday morning due to all the retards and morons who would send on the txts that go along the lines of "Fwd this to 10 ppl and Vodafone will giv you $20". Then they have the nerve (or is it stupidity) to wonder why their txts sometimes take their time to go through Chilling_Silence (9)
356456 2005-05-21 04:50:00 I couldn't care less about Vodafone and their text services free or not, but am I the only person to be thoroughly appalled by their advert on TV and the picture houses. This is an obvious play on the Great Escape - those men cetainly didn't sing and dance when they got out. And when the Germans shot 50 of our best blokes, it really wasn't funny. Just how insenstive are these people. Don't they know people are still alive who were involved in that dreadful war?

356457 2005-05-21 07:02:00 Yo Tom, calm down buddy. Their is heaps of crap of TV that is ... well .. not exactly right or fair but its life, get over it. Nothing to can do about it and so what, the add gets its message across to its selected audience, which is the whole goal. How about Allo Allo, that WWII program, famous as, a completely comidy. That made a huge joke about the war, don't see anyone bitching about that now do you. Times are changing and personally, I'm sick of people like your-self finding anything to moon and groon at.
