| 359082 | 2005-05-28 01:25:00 | Here's a review (os.newsforge.com) from a long-time Linux user of XP Home. A bit tongue-in-cheek, but valid none-the-less. | vinref (6194) | ||
| 359083 | 2005-05-28 02:09:00 | Heh I've seen a firend try and install XP from one of those recovery CDs and because he had a non-standard video card in his HP, it was very difficukt to read the screens (they were scambled). I had to help enter a product key blind. The guy from the HP helpdesk had no idea what was going on. The guy in the "review" probably had a crappy LCD screen with broken DDC. He is really looking for problems that are due to odd hardware. If you read the posts to my local LUG, then you find that Linux opens a different can of worms. Both operating systems could do with a lot of polish. Maybe he should try OS X next :) |

| 359090 | 2005-05-28 14:08:00 | Having read this what is your point? WinXP works for me as it does for most people. It's a caricature of the average Linux review by a Windows user, as you may have seen many times. It rates Windows according to Linux, and it is valid because Windows falls far short of what Linux (and *BSD) offers. |
