| 654954 | 2008-04-02 19:31:00 | We found the problem arose with several computers on One router. We tried the pull-out-the-cable but the other computer still seemed to be across the line. The Repair function quickly fixes that problem but it kept happening. Bought two modems.problem solved? Almost, but to save wearing out the cable connections pulling it in and out we installed a simple toggle switch. Now problem solved. How did you buy the cable modems ?? Telstra rent them as part of your monthly payment - they WONT sell them, as the MAC address of the Cable Modem, and every Modem in the world has a different MAC Address, has to match the IP address Telstra give you. You cant switch /toggle between the two. So even if you had the same IP address in each Modem the MAC's wouldn't match. That only proves theres a fault as where its said "several " computers , how many are several, I have any thing from 6-10 at a time on a average day with no problems. |
