Unfortunitly this was the only way apple got permission from the record labels to sell there music through the itunes music store. I didn't realise how bloated it was on windows, I know a few pc users that use it without complaints though |

Syncing to hdd works ok, and you have the option of sending mp3s back to the Ipod, and formatting the Ipod . Its good I can still use the Ipod as a external hdd, without using Itunes . There's another program called CD 2 Ipod, which isnt too bad either . This rips music from a cd and transfers the MP3's directly to an Ipod . It does everything in between . |

| 358062 | 2005-05-25 08:27:00 | Never had to use itunes to use the ipod as an external drive. Formatted mine as a windows drive that way both mac and windows can read it and probably linux which i haven't tried. Just plug it in and it mounts on both OS's i use |

| 358063 | 2005-05-25 08:39:00 | Yer I didnt check to see if it'd work as is . BUT Itunes has an option to enable the hdd side of it . So I ticked it and left it unticked until now . Then removed Itunes . |
