656109 2008-04-05 03:01:00 I have just bought an image editing program and discovered that it requires a .NET download. I've tried a bit of Googling but can't find anything too concrete, in plain language( it seems to be a BIG THING and does lot of stuff). Worse still, I seem to dimly remember the odd adverse opinion in the distant past.
Any advice!

656111 2008-04-05 03:21:00 Its called Memory Manager 2.0. Sold in conjunction with a Scarbooking outlet. Looked really good at restoring old colour photos in a demo (our photo). PPp (9511)

Gimp is FREE.

656114 2008-04-05 08:37:00 Both programs have a steep learning curve, plus I have some time constraints. I am really trying to find out some more about .NET and the implications of installing it. But thanks for the suggestions. PPp (9511)
656115 2008-04-05 08:51:00 Well the implications of not installing whatever version, is the program that needs it wont install or wont work Speedy Gonzales (78)
656116 2008-04-05 09:08:00 It would be nice to make well informed choice. PPp (9511)
656117 2008-04-05 10:49:00 Its not evil, Just bloat thats worth avoiding unless you have a good reason to have it installed. Metla (12)

Both applications have very good online tutorials which you will need for retouching and colour correcting regardless of the application you use.
