360513 2005-06-02 04:02:00 Telecom's T3G network can't do VIDEO CALLING. it can only do VIDEO MESSAGING(so its not live. u have to record video and send). When vodafone's 3G network starts up in a month u will be able to do VIDEO CALLING. thats where vodafone is going to beat telecom.video calling is gona be very popular. lance4k (4644)

360515 2005-06-02 04:58:00 3G is a serious waste of time.

I don't want TV and movies on my phone.

I want to use it to make phone calls and text. So far the video phone systems for landlines have failed to make much of an impact at all. I don't see 3G going very far for many years yet.

360516 2005-06-02 05:20:00 It's not a waste of time, provided they can be used at reasonable prices...

I played around with 3G while in Hong Kong.. It's not necessary, but it certainly is fun, esp video calling... Nice to see a person, as well as talk to them...

And sending video messages, watching video clips, checking emails, sending "e-cards" to your loved ones... Well, hey, why shoot down new features???

I'm certainly looking foward to Vodafon'e launch of 3G... My phone is waiting in earnest...

360517 2005-06-02 06:14:00 They have paid stupid prices for the frequency allocations. The prices won't be "reasonable" unless the majority of users of the older cell systems (and Telecom landlines ?) subsidize them. Graham L (2)

No you doofus... You hold the phone in your hand... Kinda like your webcam... And you use either a handsfree gadget (like a bluetooth earpiece), or you just speak normally into the mic, and you can hear the other party via the speakerphone.. The latter only works when it's quite quiet though...

Gosh you guys are so resistant of these new gadgets and ideas! This IS a PC world forum..... I would guess that you guys think that polyphonic ringtones, camera, color screens, games, radio / music player... These functions are ALL useless???

You could put the phone on the dashboard and show off your driving skills, or lack of it. Now thats cool!
