359941 2005-05-31 03:25:00 Clattering away on the kboard before I typed in a period and clattered on . Looked back and no, silly me, put in a colon instead . So backspaced over it and typed a period again . Checked, no, still a colon . Did it again, again, again, again .
And a few more agains . Crazy . What is this? I't's a virus, it's a worm, it's the first sign of trojan . Utterly stumped . :yuck:

It was a spot on the screen . Have a very clean computer now . HaHa

Just a silly thing I thought I'd share with you :)

359942 2005-05-31 03:31:00 I have been staring at a "dead" pixel on my laptop screen for a week, too shattered by its existence to accept it was really there....

5 minutes ago I wiped it off with a cloth....

Not quite so shattered anymore. :groan: :groan: :groan:

359943 2005-05-31 04:30:00 LOL In the medical world they have a maxim to "always try the simplest diagnosis first".

Same thing applies to comps. :)

359944 2005-05-31 06:21:00 you should have read my thread 'Keeping flys off my comp screen', some informative if not imaginative suggestions.

I'm not sure if flies have colons to do their business, but they may have semi-colons :D

359945 2005-05-31 06:39:00 A blocked colon means a full stop.... a bit of a RAM might clear it ./..
And of course, watch out for BackOrifice ....

Well on a slightly different tack, we have a wobbly desk (work station in the office) . . . . . Metla will verify, he has seen it .

i was hoping to claim insurance when the CRT monitor fell off the top while either in use or i was not there . . . . . and someone knocks it off the stand .

But ha, Hubby tightened up the desk today, while i was on practicum and so visions of a new LCD monitor have flown out the door, and now i will have to clean the beast as i thought the colour was going funny . . . . . well i wiped all the dust off it . . . . :p and well its fine now
