359496 2005-05-29 07:08:00 I'm looking to get a new machine sometime this year . At home I am still pounding along on a P450 (no kidding) it does all I need, but I would like to upgrade so I can use XP, and maybe get into video (pipe dream) .

So considering all the new technology out, who would punt for a vanilla 2 . 8 -3 . 2 gig machine now?

Would a double core, or 64 bit, etc etc, be worth waiting for?

Which passes the "reality difference" test? IE: something that you actually notice the difference on when you use it? (I use a 3 . 2 gig machine at work and hardly notice a difference with what I have here at home . )

Whats the next gee wizz tech that will change our lives and be worth hanging on for?

Interesting. Apparently chipsets even further back as 865PE have had a TPM in them (Trusted Platform Module).

Do you know if the AMD dual cores have a similiar DRM chip in them?
