656203 2009-01-03 06:55:00 Yep, ImgBurn (www.imgburn.com/) is definitely the most feature-rich freeware CD burning app but I use BurnAware (www.glorylogic.com/) whenever the need to burn a disc comes around., it's just a lot nicer program to use. I recently scored Burn Aware Home Edition at Giveaway of the Day (http:) for free which was good (although you have to jump through a hoop or two).
Just tried Burnaware Free and it went well. Found out after that verifying is not done by default. You have to go Compilations/Properties and chose verify after burning. I will remember that next time I use it. Still very easy and simple to use !

So beama..... you're saying that

........burnaware isn't as good ?

or
CDBurnerXP is so good you haven't had the need to try anything else ?

or
burnaware is tied to hardware (don't think so !!)

or
....... ?

656206 2009-01-03 07:23:00 I think beama was comparing it to Nero, which is tied with the burner (if you buy a burner that comes with Nero) Speedy Gonzales (78)

656208 2009-01-03 20:20:00 Burnaware free is the only burning program I use as it does everything I want quickly and easily. It is also very lightweight gary67 (56)
656209 2009-01-03 20:52:00 This thread has been around for a while now and things change with time.
If you just want to copy from Pc to dvd try a program called "Copy to DVD'

It works every time. Not particularly fast, but it's accurate. I found the XP "send to dvd" could not recognise the size of my dvd and kept giving me maessages about it being to small.

656210 2009-01-03 23:00:00 If you are running Vista as the operating system, keep in mind that some burner software versions [e.g Nero 6] do not have full functionality.
I bit the bullet and bought Nero 7 full spec a year or two ago and am very happy with it,plus avoid messages to buy something more which happens with the versions that come with the 'out of the box' purchases.
As you already know by now, Nero allows for a dumb bunny installation, which can be handy if the client wants simplicity.

656211 2009-01-04 08:53:00 Definitely burnaware free, light and easy GUI.:)

I hate nero, takes ages to install and takes up like 350mb!
For a CD/DVD burning program!!
