And you use either a handsfree gadget (like a bluetooth earpiece), or you just speak normally into the mic, and you can hear the other party via the speakerphone.. The latter only works when it's quite quiet though... Gosh you guys are so resistant of these new gadgets and ideas! This IS a PC world forum..... I would guess that you guys think that polyphonic ringtones, camera, color screens, games, radio / music player... These functions are ALL useless??? Yes they are all useless. Back in my naive days I bought a phone will polyphonic and java and all that other rubbish and I have used it maybe 10 times in the 1.5 years that I've had it. I have an ipod for music, a cell phone for calling/texting and a gameboyadvance for portable games. Each does their job very, very well. Put it all in one system and it'll end up being a rushed Piece of crap. |

I chose nokia ring #5. Now theres probably 100 rings on my crappy Alcatel, and i'm running a jazz tune that so far i havent heard come from anyone elses phone. Polyphonic, downloadable, and usermade ring tones have the function of making it possable to tell your phone apart from the other 50 in the room, as well as being "fun". |

| 360535 | 2005-06-10 02:47:00 | sookie, I have nothing more to say . . . I reckon if you drive, your car doesn't need to have aircon, a CD player, sun visors, wood panelling, interior light eh??? Cause it's pointless to have extras on a car anyway . . . You just need a shell, 4 tyres, a engine, and brakes . A car and a cellphone are quite different which I don't think you could compare in terms of extras . A lot of features on phones are quite useless . It'll probably appeal more to people who can not afford the luxury of buying a number of gadgets such as a iPod, phone, laptop etc . . . I've got a Nokia 6260 and it's packed with symbian features . I haven't touched anything on it . I only use it as a phone . As for 3G, video calls will NOT take off here in NZ . NZ's overpriced rates are appalling . In countires like Hong Kong they have the service available to them but no one uses it . You walk through the streets of HK and you'll see everyone on their bluetooth headsets and handsfree sets . Not one person using video calls casue its just looks stupid . Why would you walk down the street allowing everyone to see who you are talking to or what you're talking about ???? :@@: |

| 360536 | 2005-06-10 03:37:00 | It's the novelty of it! Granted, it might not become real popular, but I certainly don't mind packing in as many features into my phone as possible... Simply... Why not??? Note: I do use 3G video calling in HK with a handsfree headset just to say hi to friends and family on special occasions, like Christmas eve.... |
