That's the way to go - make sure you have the ethernet/modem drivers downloaded/saved onto some external media BEFORE formatting. Then format, install XP, install ethernet/modem drivers, and go to the motherboard manufacturers site and download drivers. |

So very true, HP does bundle loads of Crap, and a straight XP install will make it faster - the drivers are normally located in a folder called bin, usually on the C: Drive ( could be hidden) ONLY problem is as Unity1 has said, pressed F10 to recover - thats a recovery partition, and Unity probably wont have a XP CD with the PC, you can always borrow one and use the COA on the PC to reinstall. You can always go through the start up and disable lots of HP rubbish, which will have a speed up effect - Click start / run type in msconfig press enter and look through the start up tab. | wainuitech (129) | ||
