2008-04-04 20:03:00 | I have tried many times to dump this program via add/remove in Windows 2000 pro, but nothing at all happens. CCcleaner does not do it either. There does not seem to be an uninstall feature with the program either. Its 23 mb and I just want it gone. How might I achieve this ?

2008-04-04 21:36:00 | Try deleting the folder in program files then run ccleaner to tidy up the registry afterwards | gary67 (56) | |
2008-04-04 21:47:00 | Common problem. :badpc: Boot up in safe mode, delete the program files folder, like Gary said, use hijackthis to clean up the startup entries. Then clean temp files/registry with ccleaner, and remove AVG from the add/remove programs and all programs menus. And if you are going to want to reinstall it (which I wouldn't recommend) you will have to go through the registry manually and clean out everything AVG/Grisoft. Even then it may not reinstall. Good luck!

2008-04-04 21:54:00 | Hi Curly Have you gone to START>ALL PROGRAMS>AVG 7.5. The uninstall file can be found there. I do agree the method suggested is just as good however. :punk BURNZEE THE WAY TO A FISHERMAN'S HEART IS THROUGH HIS FLY!!

2008-04-05 02:09:00 | Thanks for all the replies. I tried add/remove once again and noticed that it wanted me to confirm that I wanted to remove AVG etc, but the line ended in a backslash. This looked odd, so I backspaced over the backslash and the removal completed. Problem solved - thanks.
