657233 2008-04-08 23:23:00 i have a 8600gt graphics card and a blu ray player playing on a 1080p tv, at the same point in my blu ray movie (planet earth) the video freezes and some times the computer blu screens, or it says drivers failed any idea what this could be? handya (3666)
657234 2008-04-08 23:48:00 What program are you using??

And what does the stop error or the blue screen say??

Does it give the name of the driver?

Are you playing this from the computer, connected to this TV or what?

657235 2008-04-09 02:10:00 im playing it on a computer connected to a tv, via a dvi to hdmi adapter,
im using the latest nvidia drivers for my 8600gt card,
usaly the screen goes black and i have to reboot, but some times i get a quick blu screen and it reboots on its own,
another time an error came up that said something about graphics card drivers have stopped working,
this only happens in the same place on the blu ray disk.

657236 2008-04-09 02:15:00 Right click on my computer on the desktop . Then go to advanced / startup and recovery / settings. Untick automatically restart. Then OK, OK

Then you may see what driver is crashing

WHAT program are you using to play these videos with?

657238 2008-04-09 02:36:00 Does it say it plays blu-ray??

Did it come with your player??

The version of Powerdvd is a retail/full version not a trial?

If it is / does, I would see what this blue screen says, next time it crashes.

Thats if u unticked automatically restart

657239 2008-04-09 03:29:00 fails same place every time?

can the media (disk) be played/scanned and pass error free?

657240 2008-04-09 05:37:00 fails same place every time, not sure how to scan for errors, hopefully its just that one disk not something wrong with my computer handya (3666)
657241 2008-04-09 05:37:00 get the latest nvidia drivers, then try again. If it doesnt blue screen after that, its a driver problem.

P.S Blu ray playback requirements are quite steep. An 8600GT might not be your idea card, try the cheap 8800GT, works way better.

657242 2008-04-09 05:38:00 Is this the original dvd??

Did you check and see, if there are any updates for the version of PowerDVD you've got?

Did u untick automatically restart?? If u did if its crashed since, WHAT does it say on the blue screen??

Or go to control panel / admin tools / event viewer. Look under system/application. Look for any X's, or error entries.

Relating to this crash (about the time it crashed). Tell us what that says
