656836 2008-04-07 11:12:00 I've downloded LAME version 3.97 and want to get it work with Groove Mechanic to produce mp3 files. To work, Groove Mechanic asks for the location of LAME.exe. There doesn't appear to be a file of this name and Windows search can't find it either. There is an option to type in a command line also.
Does anyone know how to get LAME working?
Thanks JR

maybe you downloaded it as a .zip file andit needs to be UNzipped first......

656839 2008-04-07 20:16:00 You possibly downloaded the source? sal (67)
656840 2008-04-07 20:53:00 I downloaded a zipped file from the LAME site and unzipped it and looked for an .exe file.

Downloaded the source? I'm not techno savvy enough to understand that. I'd be greatful if you could explain.

Thanks JR

656841 2008-04-07 21:16:00 So, what was in the zipped file then? Speedy Gonzales (78)
656842 2008-04-07 21:27:00 The lame encoder file I have is: lame_enc.dll (about 480 kb) which is in the same directory as my CD ripping program - Audio Grabber.

You should have something similar if extracted or downloaded effectively. Maybe search for a similar file, then perhaps insert it in your CD ripping program's directory...

656843 2008-04-08 10:47:00 Thanks Speedy Gonzales and kahawai chaser.

I finally found a version with an .exe extension on the internet.

Seems to work fine.

Appreciate your comments.
