| 656756 | 2008-04-07 06:10:00 | Hi, I am a serious amateur photographer. I have been looking at the Trinitron CRT monitors because they are cheap and can be bought used form auctions. In the past CRT was still king but these days, LCD are catching up. If I am wanting a quality of such, are they still expensive? For my usage I would like 2 screens or 1 screen if they can split the screen into two displays. Some people have referred me to Eizo but it seems expensive. Thanks! |

I use my computer for photographic work too, so I looked around for an LCD that was hopefully good enough for that without being way too dear. Ended up with a Philips 190 P7EG, a 19" 5 x 4 aspect ratio. The grey scale is pretty neutral. There is a small amount of vertical shading, otherwise, it's good. That may not be at all what you want, but it is a suggestion. Presume you are in NZ? |

You need either a VA panel, or an IPS panel(very rare) . Avoid the TN panels, as they are best for gamers, and the veiwing angles for colour reproduction isn't as good as VA panels . This website will be your friend if you are looking for an LCD to your requirements . hardforum . com/forumdisplay . php?f=78" target="_blank">www . hardforum . com |

I had heard some versions of the Dell 2007WFP suffered from colour banding, and Dell got in trouble with the commerce commission because of breaches of the FTA. www.consumer.org.nz |
