362168 2005-06-08 16:54:00 This may sound really simple and stupid, but I'm kinda stuck . I got this new Samsung player that, unless I'm missing something (entirely possible, so if you know, please tell me), can only handle one bit rate at a shot, so I wanted to go with 128K, since it can't seem to handle the 192K bitrate that most of my stuff is in now .

Its a good player, it'll do mp3, wav, etc . and all that, just only one at a time, and it shuts down any time you give it something where it'd have to switch formats or bitrates on its own :badpc: . I figure I can deal with it since I just need it for something small enough to put in my pocket while I mow the lawn . But I'm babbling . If you've got any tips for how to downsample the 192K stuff I've gotdown to 128k, toss me an Email .
Thanks, Brendan

362169 2005-06-08 20:12:00 That's a shame, because converting from a lossy format to another lossy format (even if it's still the same format) will result in a greater loss of quality than just the 64kbit difference.

Have you checked out the manufacturer's website for this issue?

Anyway, I'm pretty sure CDex will do what you want - it's a great free ripping and converting tool.

Does batch conversions, and is VERY good at it too... so simple :)

Such a small download, grab it from goldwave.com and enjoy

Cheers

It's a hotmail address, I don't think he'll be too worried about spam getting to that account.
