| 362750 | 2005-06-13 14:45:00 | got the theme from en.crystalxp.net and the widgets are from http://www.konfabulator.com/ I'm stuck on applying the themes. I've installed UXTheme Multipatcher by Neowin, but under the "Appearance" tab of Display Properties, the themes are not detected. I've followed the instructions, unzipping the file into the Resource folder. What more can I do? Cheers :) |

I've followed the instructions, unzipping the file into the Resource folder. What more can I do? Cheers :) In display properties, click on themes tab, click on arrow to right of Theme name box, at bottom of list is "Browse", find windows resources file, then the theme that you d/loaded and D/click on it. This gets the theme going OK for me anyway. If your theme includes Icons I've sometimes found you have to change them manually. If this still doesn't work, check you have the latest Uxtheme multipatcher and that it has installed properly. At the stage where you Ok it to change a protected file, wait for at least 1 minute without touching anything. Apparantly you have to give Windows some time to change it over properly before exiting out of the patching process. [got that info from a forum one time, don't know which one]. Neowin's forum site has a sticky on how to use this patch and how to fix any problems. Insane Kiwi wrote it and it's really good. Have a look here here (www.neowin.net) HTH and best of luck. PS. I've also found if you do that sfc /scannow windows file checker thingy, it uninstalls the UXTheme patch and you will have to install it again. |

| 362752 | 2005-06-13 20:05:00 | Problem solved. I was rather impatient when patching the UXTheme and skip the message that prompts me whether I wanted to change protected file blah blah blah.... A very nice, striking theme, I must say. Cheers :) |
