Young Dangerous Dave seems to have some strange ideas about "legal prostitution." This is a school ball we're talking about, remember.
And as for never paying for a girl - he sounds a bit like a bachelor I know. The difference is he's 75 - and somehow never did get a girl who wanted to stay.
Ah, but wait until Dave really falls for a girl. Oh, to be a fly on the wall then...

Young Dangerous Dave seems to have some strange ideas about "legal prostitution." O no...... a friend of mine once shouted me a concert ticket, AND she bought me a drink......... Whore i be without even turning it up! O the shame, the shame. :illogical

Seriously though, i can see some of Daves point regarding tradition and expectation, but i see nothing wrong with shouting a friend a night out. Nor do i see how it matters on what gender the shouter or the shoutee are.

The above example (concert ticket) was thanking me at a time when Tool came to CHCH. I couldnt afford to go, but dearly wanted to. I'd spent 3 days a week or so beforehand rewiring part of her truck, and had thought nothing of it. A better thanx i could not have asked for.

Recently i shouted another friend to the movies (HHGTTG) just cause she'd had a hard week, so i gave her a wee pick me up. I think everyone likes being spoilt sometimes ey?

362494 2005-06-10 15:58:00 Yes, everyone does..
And what on earth is HHGTTG? Last query before I log off - and far too late to work it out myself right now.

so from what your saying, the girl was a moneygrabber who left him because he wasn't paying for anything? Sounds like he got the better deal...

Your link site looked promising - once I found the working bit amongst the ads.
But using it immediately generated a pop-up with an official-looking Firefox "Warning - You may have Critical Errors on your Computer."
It told me Error Guard found 47 errors & I could do a free search.

It also told me that by clicking the Free Search button, I agreed to the End User licence. That button was virtually hidden under tiny print at the bottom of the page.

And the licence said that if Error Guard detects errors, I have to buy it before it fixes them. That's when I exited.

Sneaky stuff. As a new user, I'd have fallen for that. It looks really worrying...
So although the site seems useful, I'll find another next time I want an acronym explained.

Dangerous D:
No, my point wasn't that THE girl left him. It was that they ALL did - one by one.

362499 2005-06-11 03:47:00 Laura: I have been using that site for at least a couple of years and have never experienced any popups like you describe . I disabled Opera's popup blocker and even tried IE but still got nothing . It is possible that my Hosts file is blocking them but that seems unlikely .

You might want to consider the popup blocker extension for Firefox and see if that stops them .

Actually, as you mentioned the other day that you now run Windows XP it could be possible that you have the Messenger service running if you don't have SP2 installed . Download and run this little app ( . grc . com/stm/shootthemessenger . htm" target="_blank">www . grc . com) to check and disable if it is running .

I'm using Mozilla/5 . 0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1 . 7 . 5) Gecko/20050210 Firefox/1 . 0 (Debian package 1 . 0+dfsg . 1-6)
However, i dont think it was my version +OS that led to the disappearence of extras .

Ahhh confusion . . . we meet again! :D

362501 2005-06-11 08:00:00 Thanks Foxy & personthingy.
Interesting...
Yes, I am now on XP with SP2, but the Messenger symbol at the bottom right of screen shows:" Not signed in" when I put my cursor over it, so I just assumed that meant it was inactive & I could ignore it?
But I'll certainly download the " Shoot" if I guessed wrongly.
As for Firefox, I had the popup blocker on my old 98SE & thought I'd put it on XP (plus I've had no other popups) but maybe I was installing too much at once.
Checking required...
Meanwhile, looks as if I've got my own personalised sneaky popup others don't see. Exclusive, huh?
