| 361465 | 2005-06-18 03:15:00 | Why is there this fixation on whether people post or not? They are welcome to browse without ever posting anything. There are some people with high post count who have made little or no positive contributions. One or two of them caused me to use the "ignore" option. I seriously suggested not displaying individual postcounts when the forum software was changed. Perhaps this could be considered again. |

| 361467 | 2005-06-23 10:31:00 | I am a not so new non poster - I really appreciate the advice I can find here and the laughs at times, sort of like listening to someone elses conversation. As I work from home I enjoy the community of PF1, even if I am generally not one to talk much. On the couple of occasions I have asked a question I have received prompt, helpful advice for which I am greatful, but I have been relucant to send a thank you message through the fourum as it sends the thread back to the top of the list. I like the idea of sending PM's to people, but again felt a little shy as PM's are generally considered for more people I know a little better. Maybe there needs some further info on forum neticut so we don't annoy those with the knowledge and can do the right thing. Please keep up the good work, Signed: the silent ones! |

Dont worry too much bestie, there is allways going to be someone offended, indeed it is true that there are some here who seem to enjoy being offended. Still a little appreciation shown does go a long way. The most important thing is that you should be honest with your intent, as i beleive you are, and all will be sweet! |

With respect, you are making a big mistake by thinking that . I know no one who doesn't appreciate a word of thanks for their efforts at providing help . In fact I get very annoyed at going to a lot of trouble to help people and getting no feedback or acknowledgement at the end of it, even if it is only a word or two to say how the problem had been fixed or otherwise . If the same person does that twice to myself or others here I will no longer bother to try and help them with their problems no matter how simple they are . My advice is to not be concerned about "bumping up your thread" again to say thanks to your helpers . A public acknowlegement is appreciated and lets everyone know when problems have been fixed or not whereas sending a PM or email, as some people have done to myself, does not, although it is better than nothing . Finally, thanks for being honest about your feelings and situation . |

Without that final feedback we can never be sure. Thats speaking from a lurkers point of view :D |

| 361471 | 2005-06-23 23:45:00 | Speaking of dolts . I just took a phone call, People concerned had retrieved their comp from me and were setting back up, seems they had been looking for a good hour for the plug to insert the power cord . Looked high, looked low, could not find it . Logical thing to do is? Apparently its to ring me and ask me what the hell I done with it . . . . . After I had explained a few times that it was inconceivable for the plug to have been removed from the psu the discovery was made that they had jammed the phone cord into the damn thing . :badpc: Damn funny, The tone of that conversation changed real quick . . . . . Good to see you sorted that lot, dolts . ;) |
