How do I fix this, it started yesterday, and I haven't gotten MSN working since.

Obviously my internet works, how else would I post this ..

656961 2008-04-08 05:04:00 Have you tried going through the troubleshooter? I have MSN do that every now and then, running the troubleshooter through seems to work most of the time.

Are you on dial up or broadband?

656962 2008-04-08 05:08:00 There could be a myriad of issues.

When did you last do a Virus / Spyware check?

Have any of your friends sent you a link saying "Is this really you? http://www......." within the last few days?
Chilling_Silence (9)
656963 2008-04-08 05:18:00 Troubleshooter does nothing, I have done it like 20 times. I'm on broadband.

Probably a week ago was my last virus check, and no, I haven't clicked any "omg look at ur pix" links or .zip files.

656964 2008-04-08 05:21:00 Its probably having issues, you'll have to wait for it to get fixed Speedy Gonzales (78)
656965 2008-04-08 05:21:00 Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling MSN?

Post a hijackthis log.

Open up a command prompt, type in netsh winsock reset and reboot.

656967 2008-04-08 05:33:00 OK, possibly found the problem.

These three..

...probably shouldn't be there. Unless you have installed proxifier. I can't see it there...

Run that netsh winsock reset through like I said earlier, reboot and see if that fixes it.

If not, download LSPFix (cexx.org) and remove those entries, but be careful not to remove wrong ones!
wratterus (105)
656968 2008-04-08 05:38:00 Yea I have proxifier.

I ran netsh winsock reset, but it still isn't working. :(
Wardog (6821)
656969 2008-04-08 05:41:00 Hurrm. In that case don't use LSPFix.

Run CCleaner (www.ccleaner.com) through. Clean out temp files and do a registry clean.

Is Proxifier able to be disabled? I wonder if that's causing the problem. If it was my PC, I'd uninstall Proxifier for the mean time until the issue is sorted, make sure those LSP entries are gone, then reinstall it when MSN is working again.

Run HJT again and tick the following entry.

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {7E853D72-626A-48EC-A868-BA8D5E23E045} - (no file)

Also this seems to be nasty, it ought to be in the system32 folder...

Speedy will be along no doubt.... ;)

F2 - REG:system.ini: Shell=explorer.exe C:\WINDOWS\Media\csrss.exe

Do another scan with NOD32, also get Trojan Remover (www.simplysup.com) and run that through
