362412 2005-06-09 13:10:00 This site (http://www.rasterman.com/) shows that the new Enlightenment E17 blazes away from the competition, including the new Fluxbox, Openbox and XFCE. Interesting, as I always considered Enlightenment to be fat, slow and full of eye-candy.

Anyone running Enlightenment E17 yet? Is it really that fast?

362413 2005-06-10 06:34:00 Interesting stats. I always thought XFCE (4.0.6) was more of a light-weight Window Manager and therefore should of performed better. Pity he didn't mention how much RAM his test system had.

Haven't tried Enlightenment at all. I still luv my fat slower KDE :D

Dont worry its our secret  (opps, forgot public forum :D)Gnome is the default Desktop Environment for Fedora - but I like being a rebel ... ;)

I always install both Gnome and KDE (also did XFCE this time on FC3), just to keep an open mind with how the other Window Managers are shaping up - always keep coming right back to KDE though :D

362416 2005-06-10 16:16:00 I'm not sure if Mepis even has Gnome.... The login box changed to German some stage in the set up..... I think when i pointed out that i'd prefer metric measurement. (This is Mepis's biggest bug, but its more like a qwerk cauze it's funny)

Anyway the point is i'm not adventurios enough to try everything on the menu to see if gnome is even there!!! :D
