| 658242 | 2008-04-12 23:13:00 | So I've been trying to do some port forwarding on the DSL-502T (the one you get for free from Telecom), but I have no idea how to actually enter the setup for the modem! I tried typing my ip address into firefox, but then I am prompted for a username and password. The supposed default of admin/admin doesn't work, and neither does my xtra username and password. Is this where I'm supposed to access the setup utility? If so, how can I find out my username and password? Or am I doing something completely wrong? Any help will be VERY appreciated! |

What exactly am I supposed fill out on the LAN Clients page? |

| 658247 | 2008-04-12 23:55:00 | If its like the DSL-604GT, you have to make sure the ip you've got is a static IP. Thats the only way you can use port forwarding (well on this one anyway) If youve got it (whatever NIC/ LAN adapter), on obtain an IP, change it to use the following ip. |

| 658250 | 2008-04-14 21:27:00 | you dont require a static ip to port forward on the dsl 502T, helps if you set up an alternative ip to that of which your pc usually uses. Basically just have a static ip whilst setting up port forwarding. found that best to check which specific ports are require by which ever program you are forwarding ports for, and dont just take the first set of values you find, confirm them a few times with different sources. Friend of mine messed his internet connection up because he failed to check his source. other than that the dsl is simple lots of web pages dedicated to port forwarding. | xmetalxmulishaxn (13619) | ||
