Yes folks, there is more to the dark side of the Force, a Sith Emperor that controls even the mighty Darth Gates. Answer: CHINA. Microsoft Corp.'s new MSN China Internet venture is censoring words such as "freedom," "democracy" and "human rights" on its free online journals, Microsoft said on Tuesday, putting itself in the middle of a major Web controversy. Words and phrases banned in the subject line of entries for Microsoft's MSN Spaces on Tuesday also included "Taiwan independence" and "demonstration," which returned an error message saying "prohibited language, please remove." Not even former and current leaders' names such as "Mao Zedong" or "Hu Jintao" were allowed. more here (www.reuters.com) If you think the Internet is free, think again - not so in China. |

The U.S. administration is actively supporting a repressive dictatorship in an ex U.S.S.R. country where 200+ citizens were shot just weeks ago in a peaceful demonstration and still wants us to believe that the administration believes in human rights etc. The U.S. will get into bed with any tinpot regime which suits their purpose. | Valerie (4740) | ||

The likes of China will never see change untill other big players just tell them to shove it, But MS would never turn their back on the folding stuff, even if it means suporting opression. Is 100 billion just not enough. Scum (I have other words as well, but can't see any reason to break my run of not getting banned) |

You wouldn't do business with China because of it's human rights record, and practices, so when you look around the room you're in now there are no products from China? Living ethically is easier when you're dead. |
