Most of them use Vista nowdays, DX 10 makes Vista the king of Gaming OSes, and although not many use it now, in a year, most of us will be on Vista. L So therefore, as XP dies out, games will be made for Vista and all gamers will rejoice, as games take advantage of Vista. Future hardware makes any O/S run faster. And? Games will be made for Windows 7 too, and then WIndows whatever happens after that. And in the next 20 years for something else. And people then will laugh at the primitive Vista. |

And Maxs will never catch up with Windows, they are made by apple only, try putting Mac on any PC not made by apple, and it won't work. DX 10 is currently near worthless as there are NO Native DX10 games yet, its like you have never read a review lol. enthusiast.hardocp.com enthusiast.hardocp.com enthusiast.hardocp.com There are plenty more but, you should spend time to goolge if you are in doubt. I dual boot Vista and XP, and game in both, you clearly don't. XP is 100% the current better gaming OS. I agree with you in 1 to 2 years we will all be using Vista, especially when we start to see true native DX10 games, but for now..... |

| 657689 | 2008-04-13 08:25:00 | Well, for me a 10% hit over XP is acceptable, I dont need to have the fastest gaming PC to enjoy a game. The thing is once you start using SLI\TRi or QUAD rigs, the memory address range start depreciating into the max application address of 2GB. 2 x 768+ virtual RAM >2GB. No such limitations exist with x64. Is the object of a gaming PC to have the fastest?, most stable?, most useful. Any gamer worth his salt will not have legacy software of peripherals anyway. I happen to think that DX10 IQ, even if only additional to DX9 is a better visually. I cant understand this hard core stick with XP, you are only limiting your games! If the world of gaming really needs the extra 10% of XP over Vista, anyone but those with pockets of money for the latest hardware is going to be at a disadvantage to those that do, and we all know that isnt so. XP may for now be the quickest current O/S for gaming, but thats not to say its the best O/S for gaming..... my 2 cents. |
