| 364303 | 2005-06-16 06:43:00 | My bank (BNZ) charges c/c for $1 to withdraw cash from ATM or inside $5. International ATM is $7.50 For EFTPOS inside bank is 50c at ATM witdrawal or free if you on a chq account which gives you certain transactions free per month. Inside withdrawal is $1.25. For me at the mo, no month charge. If I am 30yrs+, there would be a $2.50 inside eftpos charge instead. Outside ATM 50c I think, plus a $5 monthly charge unless you got $2500 bal on chq account. |

No account fees at all, unlimited eftpos, unlimited transactions (internet and ATMs), free chequebooks, full access to internet banking. Only problem is, you get charged if you go to a branch and ask for "manual service"... Oh, btw, it uses Westpac ATMs.... |

| 364307 | 2005-06-16 07:46:00 | National Bank Thoroughbred Select. Above $5000 and no fees and a more reasonable interest rate of 4%. Personally I think it's disgusting that banks get away with charging account fees, transaction fees etc. I mean, most of the transactions are electronic and why the hell should they be charging you (and giving back piddly interest) for keeping your money when they are making an absolute mint from the ridiculous rates of borrowing. Pays to shop around for bank accounts - all these 20c, 40c and monthly fees add up to alot of money at the end of the year. |
