| 658431 | 2008-04-13 09:20:00 | How does one repair the boot sector of a hard drive that has windows 95 on it? The drive detects fine by BIOS and is accessable via bootable floppy disk, but when trying to actually boot from the hard drive I just get: "Invalid system disk Replace the disk, and then press any key" I tried fdisk /mbr but there was no change... |

Boot it .. and type "format c:/s" - that would format and copy sys files. Then just install windows. *If you get a windows 98 startup disk it should have cd drivers attached. Upon boot it ask you do you want to boot with them or not .... If you are using fat16 with windows 95 .. when you go into fdisk.exe and it ask you if you want to support larger disks - choose no. |

| 658440 | 2008-04-14 07:15:00 | Sys C:? what does that do? It copies the boot files from your floppy disc to the C: io.sys - msdos.sys - command.com and may also do config.sys and autoexec.bat It doesn't delete or format anything. |
