2005-06-18 00:19:00 | I've tried A9.com, but still prefer Google. Can anyone recommend a search engine other than Google or are we PF1ers Google addicts? Yahoo Advanced Search (search.yahoo.com) seems quite good, as is Google's Advanced Search. | Strommer (42) | |
2005-06-18 00:28:00 | why not try a meta search engine such as copernic ? | tweak'e (69) | |

2005-06-18 01:05:00 | For general purpose searches, nothing beats Google for me - powerful, all-knowing and very useful options and handles. But for some searches, I use Vivisimo (grouped results), Exalead (phonetic searches), and Scirus (scientific stuff). | vinref (6194) | |

2005-06-18 01:24:00 | Sometimes I use technorati (beta.technorati.com/) to search, it has a lot of recent content (mostly commentary). You might want to give start.com (http:) (from microsoft) a spin, its a preview and is a bit confusing but is still worth a look, I can't say I use it though (or ever will regularly). Also slightly related and doing the rounds atm is yubnub (http://www.yubnub.org/), its not a search engine but is still very handy. | sal (67) | |
2005-06-18 01:49:00 | While us google supporters sing "We love you google yes we do" Yahoo users sing " Googles gay and so are you" SO then google hires hackers to take down yahoo Sounds like the matrix.......

2005-06-18 01:50:00 | I went through a (brief) period where I tried everything else, meta-searchers, all that but just end up coming back to google. I also like it's simple presentation. Don't like those SEs that are more like portals. Goddam buy a car, get your horoscope read and sell your stamp collection when all you want to do is find a town in Norway. :2cents: .................m | mark c (247) | |
