658463 2008-04-13 21:10:00 Two questions about this program:

1.) How can I make it run faster/take up less resources? (I've already disabled automatic/quick updates)

2.) I paid for a 365 day subscription back in October. If I uninstall it now, can I reinstall it for free? Or do I need to go through their customer support to do that?

658464 2008-04-13 21:49:00 Hi Woohoo - welcome to PressF1 :)

To be honest, you won't find much love for Norton 360 around here - most folks will probably recommend you dump it in favour of NOD32 or Kaspersky (my personal favourite). By it's very nature it's resource-hungry, and even worse, not very effective at detecting/removal virus's and malware.

That said, the only suggestion I can give for your first question is disabling the active scanning, and just scheduling a full system scan every day when you're not going to be using your PC for a few hours.

Someone else should be able to answer your second question.

to answer your questions -

How can I make it run faster/take up less resources? You cant its BLOATWARE - meaning the way its designed/programed it will always slow down your PC unless the PC has LOTS of grunt. The best bet is to cut your loses and remove it - use another program, 360 is known for being a resource hog.

I paid for a 365 day subscription back in October. If I uninstall it now, can I reinstall it for free? Or do I need to go through their customer support to do that? If you uninstalled it, you wouldn't want to reinstall it, you will notice an instant speed increase in the PC. IF you ever did reinstall it, it would slow the PC back down again, you wouldn't have to repay for it. ( unless you consider "paying the price" meaning in speed reduction)

Norton has a 60 day money back policy, meaning if you are unhappy with the product they will refund the money you paid, but thats within the first 60 days only, so since you got it in October - to late I'm afraid.
