| 366886 | 2005-06-25 01:11:00 | Alrighty, Battlefeild 2 has been released and I would assume a few have raced out and purchased it.If you don't know what I am talking about then the gamespot review will most probally have you off down the shops quick smart (if you have any interest in online warfare). www.gamespot.com I give her the big thumbs up, with a couple of niggles,The amount of messing with my router to get the online portion going was a joke, I spent 2 hours getting an account made and getting into the online game browser.And once I did get a list of games it took so long to get a ping from them that I gave up. Instead resorting to scouring the net and manually taking down who was running NZ servers and then joining games by IP. Worked far better then the ingame browser. That aside, once I did get ingame I had a hell of a time, Carrening around on the back of a madly driven buggy shooting commies with the mounted machine gun.Great fun. Anyhow, What I thought would be a good idea is if users of this forum wanted to list there online names in this thread and preferred server.I will also make a list of all the NZ servers and IP's that I can find. My battlefeild 2 name : Vegemite_Shake (or, as one kind chap called me last night "F****** NuB, don't go bring me down with your n00bness", at least I think he was talking to me, as I had just run over our star player with the buggy after they had near single handely cleared out any enemy outpost, Muhahahaha. Great strategy, turn up late, then run over the champ :lol: Preferred Server : Iconnz, they were they only ones I tried, Will be listed in the list of servers when I get to do it. Buy the game, get online, Help me shoot commies. |

| 366888 | 2005-06-25 03:33:00 | :lol: :lol: In BF2 I'm E|im as in 'eliminator', not 'eJim' or 'eelim'. :rolleyes: I play on the ranked xtra servers if I can. Type 'xtra' into the filter as soon as you click multiplayer and it will show up about 7 or so servers. Those are the good ones to play on. The ranked ones will keep track of your stats so you get medals and weapon unlocks etc, priority for commander mode etc. Btw Metla, have screenshotted your victory (sal.neoburn.net). Who's next? :lol: |

Went straight thru the NAT router with no changes and no slow updates. Pings to Xtra BF2 servers are around 40-70. My only gripe is changing res means a restart of the whole program. Never installed GameSpy either. Other gripe is with the ranking servers taking so long to update. It is taking about 24 hours to update the stats at present so you may get the same medal several times. I know I have. |

| 366895 | 2005-06-26 00:45:00 | Can't say I installed gamespy......Just tried to use the ingame browser. But that's the issue: the ingame browser is GameSpy. You aren't making online accounts with EA, you're making them with Gamespy! (Hence power by gamespy at the bottom.) GARRRR!!!! |
