A good question. What do mean by "crash"?
As I remember a crash in the original term meant a hard drive read/write head bounced off a platter on the hard drive and thus causing damage to the hard drive. Is this what happend to you or did a program just stop responding?

Call me pedantic if you want.

Did the computer reboot?

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.

A crash in computing is a condition where a program (either an application or part of the operating system) stops performing its expected function and also stops responding to other parts of the system. Often the offending program may simply appear to freeze. If this program is a critical part of the operating system kernel the entire computer may crash (a system crash).

Your more of a troll then a pedantic, suggest you pay close attention to Graham L and see how its really done.

Oh I really love these quotes from the Internet. This is something you said you would not do. You can stick the Wikipedia where you like. When I get a question like "My system crashed." I just asked a question so that people here can fix the problem.

head crash

The physical destruction of a hard disk. Misalignment or contamination with dust can cause the read/write head to collide with the disk's recording surface. The data are destroyed, and both the disk platter and head have to be replaced.

The read/write head touches the surface of a floppy disk, but on a hard disk, it hovers above its surface at a distance that is 5,000 times smaller than the diameter of a human hair. It has been said that the read/write head flying over the disk surface is like trying to fly a jet plane six inches above the earth's surface.

content.answers.com Head and Disk SurfaceHead crashes used to be much more common years ago. However, they can still happen, and when they do, it means the head collides into and destroys the magnetic coating of the disk. Your bits go bye-bye.

Try this.

This is why I asked the question. Thanks also for having a go at me without getting at the original question.

Oh. When I thought about it you accused me of calling YOU a TROLL once apon a time.

Waiting for the Mods to say I am wrong.

How about some timeout and leave each other alone please. You do not have to respond to each other.
