It's getting rather infuriating, I cant find my documentation at all about the intricacies of getting the PCI-E slot used in this system. It's really really hard finding any information about it. Oh and on a completely unrelated note what do HTH and HTHBTW mean? |

Thats what I thought when I bought the x300, and didn't do any research. I just assumed I had a PCI-E X16 slot, and that anything I would plug in there would work. This motherboard has a page and a half of supported graphics cards, and I'm under the assumption that those are the only ones that will work. Unfortunatly they are in model number form which is really hard to compare cards online to. Under the expansion slot title in the specs on the gigabyte website it says: Expansion Slots 1. 1 PCI Express x 16 slot (Note 2) 2. 1 PCI Express x 1 slot 3. 2 PCI slots (Note 2) The GA-M61VME-S2 supports up to PCI Express x1 mode. (please refer to the VGA cards support list) . But I really can't find any documentation to x1 mode. |
