2005-06-19 01:13:00 | weeks ago i signed up to upgrade my jetstream from GO plan to Adventure. I check my account, yes, it shows Adventure plan and 10G cap. But the download speed in only going up to 30kb/s, so i give a call to ask what happen. They asked me to go www.jetstreamgames.co.nz to do a speed test and the result is, it's still on the jetstream go speed. They couldn't see what happen and promised me to call me back next day. However, i've already given bloody three calls but get non-reply at all! Every time is the same situation. Anyone knows what's wrong with them?

2005-06-19 05:20:00 | You ring them and say you want to be refunded for that month and any extra days where it hasn't been chnaged. Bump it up to a supervisor not just the helpdesk. Then insist they do it straight away (And they can even if they deny it- persist), then ring accounts and repeat the refund business. It worked for me, got my refund and changeover the same day. | pctek (84) | |
2005-12-07 03:53:00 | I've just upgraded and it took them far longer than it should have but it's finally all up and working. Shame about still having the crummy 160 Kbps upload speed though... | maccrazy (6741) | |

2005-12-07 04:08:00 | The diagnostics page for my modem says 160 Kbps. When I was on 256 Kbps it said downstream was 320 Kbps so I guess I am lucky (and possibly close to the exchange???). I actually take it back when I said everything was working fine. The modem is now connected at the right speed, well actually 2560 Kbps apparently, but I haven't actually managed to get anything to download at a speed faster than the old 30kb/s. I guess it will sort itself out eventually. At least the numbers look good for now. :p

Of course they may be rate limiting you further down their network anyway ... in my case the old 64 Kbps has set in, due to blowing the data cap. |

2005-12-07 22:58:00 | Ah yes, I see. Thanks gibler. Anyway, for future reference for those who dig this thread up like I did, it seems to take about 24 hours after your new billing cycle starts before they speed your connection up even if your modem says you are connected to the exchange at the faster speed. :)

2005-12-08 00:17:00 | Here's a novel idea: TRY ANOTHER ISP There are a stack of much better serving ISP's around, the last Consumer mag survey rated Xtra close to (if not at) the bottom. The price is rarely that different as well.
