1425190 2016-08-30 09:23:00 this morning I had to shut the computer down. Waited some minutes, then re-booted. It was an HOUR at least before the screen came alive. Something is seriously wrong here. Can someone help please? jayal (1291)

1425193 2016-08-30 21:25:00 More Detail. Why did you have to shut it down? Does it take that long every time now or was it just the once? do you shut down regularly or do you leave it running?
What are your system specs, was it ok before now, how full is the hard drive.

Better to flood us with useless information than tell us virtually nothing.

1425194 2016-08-30 21:59:00 okay dugimodo, here goes - I've had this problem since I installed W10. With advice from W10 forums, the replies were extensive and practical but never solved the "Slow" problem. Initially time to restart was around 15 minutes . I don't turn the computer off just have a screen saver. The recent close/restart was, I think, from Ccleaner. Following is from Belarc, hope this is useful

1425195 2016-08-30 22:02:00 It was an HOUR at least before the screen came alive.

was there NOTHING on the screen ?
were the fans etc going
was the monitor power light on

win10 has a habit of doing updates when least expected , if its a major update it can sit there for 1/2 hour or more before win loads up again, but should at least get the circling dots

on the screen after a "while" 5 little balls chasing each other in circular fashion

1425197 2016-08-30 22:13:00 You didnt install Nvidia firewall did you. Which the chipset drivers can install. If you didn't untick it. This is crap.

It can also corrupt files. Send me a PM if you want, and I'll check it out with TV
