1425137 2016-08-29 04:04:00 Before my move to Win10 I made an Image backup of Win7 using Active@. I have some photos there that I would like to restore to Win10.

Is there any way I can achieve this.? I am beginning to think that an Image backup is not the way to go as it appears that you can't restore individual files.?

1425138 2016-08-29 05:06:00 Wainui should be able to help with this seem he is a long time user of this back up software,he will know if it's possible to get files out

The more complicated way is either install the image on another system/partition to extract what you need off

1425139 2016-08-29 05:39:00 You mount the image by starting the program, Select mount Image / Explore Image ( depending on what version you have) - point at the image, then once it loads Navigate to the folder you want, select the items, right click Restore - A window opens to where you want it restored, and away it goes.

The only thing is you have to use the same version of Active @ as the image was made, I've found newer versions wont open images created by older versions of the software.

1425140 2016-08-29 06:36:00 Thanks for your help wainui. Unfortunately when I select Mount Image I get "Error 577. Failed to start virtual disk driver". Nothing is easy eh?. Pato (2463)
1425141 2016-08-29 06:50:00 I note your comments about the version of the program. I will have to sort out what version I used for the Disk Image in Win7.

The one I have at present if V7.0.4 64bit and I guess the one I made the Image with would have been 32bit.

1425142 2016-08-30 00:16:00 Wainui, The original Image was done using Active@ 5.4 so I guess I need to get a copy of that to have any chance of success.? It may be a problem getting this version. Pato (2463)
1425143 2016-08-30 02:09:00 Don't Know if it makes any difference bit I just tried to open a image file made with version 5.3, using a latest Software and it worked OK.

Usually in the past it wont load the image to drop back on a drive, maybe exploring is different. I use the Bootable CD 99% of the time as I don't use Active@ for daily backups, I have another Server doing that automatically.

1425144 2016-08-30 02:43:00 In that case it will probably be a waste of time me trying to get a copy of v5.4. Probably a glitch in my V7.0.04 and not much more I can do. Pato (2463)
1425145 2016-08-30 06:11:00 Just found a copy of 5.4 lite, meant to be anyway www.tucows.com

(only a suggestion) If you are trying to extract Via the program installed currently, try making a bootable CD and try from that.

1425146 2016-08-30 06:45:00 That may be worth a try. I appreciate your help. Pato (2463)
