1425048 2016-08-28 04:41:00 Hi
Task bar system icons for network and power are greyed out in system/task bar settings
Have tried reg fixes as described in other posts.
e.g. Tried a "enable_network_notification reg" bat file. No change
Internet working fine but says no connection... " IPv4 & 6 not connected." (in ethernet connection status)
When I "diagnose" the connection, I get .. networking reset req... no change
Seems to be since Win10 Ann update . Are the issues connected ?
Any ideas please ?
Thanks

1425049 2016-08-28 06:38:00 If its after a upgrade could be its driver related, MS may have installed the wrong ones ( had that happen several times lately with AMD drivers) . Go to the computers manufactures site download and install the latest drivers for the device /item.

You could try the following reg alteration but make a restore point first, no idea if it will work or not www.technipages.com

What you can try, wont do any harm -- Open a CMD as admin and type in Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth. <Press enter> This will tell you if it finds any faults. Depending on the result will depend on the fix.

Note: it often hangs at 20% this is normal.

Will try your next option

Drivers are up to date. Are these the Drivers as what windows updates say /installed OR the actual Manufactures updates ?? MS claim to use the latest from manufacture this is not the case. Had a problem with AMD drivers a short while back, MS said they were the latest, but downloading from AMD's site installed the correct ones.

What you may have to try, is create a new user account, see if the problem still exists on a different user.

One thing to check -- Is windows still activated ? Quick way to check, in the search type in Activation Select " See if Windows is activated" You should get the following:

7377

Is this a Desktop or Laptop ?

Also lookin device manager, any exclamation marks or items expanded out ?

You can also try running from a cmd /Admin SFC / scannow

1425055 2016-08-28 20:05:00 Try right-click on Taskbar and select Settings then under Notification area then click "Select which icons appear on the task-bar"

There may be something not right in this area

Been round and round there to no avail. Just power and network greyed out.
Laptop plugged into same cable displays network connection fine.
