1423057 2016-07-14 04:19:00 And the latest ad with the fat dancer - my parcels, my way .

Uhuh .

Got sent another one from my mum .
Last time she paid $17, staggered into post shop with it . It came in 3 days, dumped on doorstep .

I measured it, checked on Pass the Parcel, they would have collected it from her for $13, . and delivered next day, signature required . Weight doesn'tmatter same price so long as it isn't over 25kg . Unlike NZPost who go up in 1, 2 and 5kg amounts .

So this parcel, I was up at 5:45am . Waiting, waiting . At 2pm I check tracking . Attempted delivery at 7:55am .
Oh really?

On phoning I was told, the label is unreadable so he didn't .
Oh really?

So why didn't they follow up on it with the tracking label?

Oh, because they don't keep them - for security reasons .

WTF?!

I get told I can go get it from the depot, or wait another day .

I choose go get it . Actually husband went .

On arrival, sorry, it's not here .
Wait another day .

Geez . No wonder they're going broke, I for one, won't miss them .

My rant is very restrained compared to what husband said to them . . . .

1423058 2016-07-14 07:01:00 NZ Post, that says it all, and the stupid dance ad? What's that all about! I thought it was some weird ad for a new song by another teenage wannabe whatever!
Useless, expensive and downright obnoxious outfit! Hey are we now comparing rants Lol?

1423059 2016-07-14 07:54:00 In response to my concern that no attempt was made to deliver a parcel, except a card in the letter box,
I got this highly helpful reply. (Many rounds of button roulette with their help desk phone number resulted in
eventually being told no representatives are available, call later. On a cellphone, these lengthy fiascos rapidly
lose their appeal.)
An email brought this highly helpful response :
__________________________________________________ ___________________

Good afternoon xxxx,

Thank you for your enquiry

On behalf of New Zealand Post I apologise for the situation that has occurred. When an item is delivered from overseas to New Zealand and goes through New Zealand Post, it is expected to be delivered by our posties.
However this is a signature required item, anything that causes him to leave his bike he will not deliver. This puts any mail on the bike at risk of being stolen.
Again I apologise for any inconvenience caused but there is nothing further we can do. We would not be able to redeliver this item as it is a NZ Post parcel. Regrettably we do not provide re deliveries.
If you have any further questions, please reply to this email.

Thanks for contacting New Zealand Post.

Kind regards,

1423060 2016-07-14 08:15:00 That's what you get with Cullen at the helm. Couldn't expect anything better! Bryan (147)
1423061 2016-07-14 09:44:00 Nothing to do with the helmsman, this pile of garbage has been going down the gurgler for years, it's just as they get nearer to the plug hole they go 'round and down at an increasing pace. R2x1 (4628)
1423062 2016-07-14 11:24:00 Well if they don't deliver signature required parcels they should be more up front about it. I've had an order from Australia bounce back to the sender without any indication on my end they'd ever tried to deliver it. The official story was they'd made 2 failed attempts but nobody was home. Yeah right. Most recently a parcel sent from Cambridge less than 30km away took a week to arrive. They do ok with regular mail mostly but their parcel post is terrible.

I've had trouble with couriers as well but at least they do deliver packages or leave a card usually and not just claim to have. The worst I've had from them is leaving packages in strange places around my property where I've not found them for a day or two.

1423064 2016-07-14 22:29:00 I sent a tracked parcel to Wellington and was queried by the recipient as to where it was. Tracking showed it was still in the Johnsonville depot. Waited a couple of days and was informed it had been received by the recipient but the tracking showed it still in the depot. I rang up NZPost and was told it was not delivered still. Rang up a couple of days later when the tracking still showed it in the depot. I feigned ignorance of the fact of it having been delivered and said I had forgotten the exact address of the recipient just so the courier would have to be asked as to what had happened to the item. The helpdesk person informed me that sometimes the couriers had so many items that they could not scan all of them when they delivered them. WTF did I pay extra for tracking then if they deliberately didn't track them?

I persisted. The recipient was in an apartment complex so I indicated the address but said I couldn't remember the exact apartment number. Bugger it - make the courier have to chase it up themselves since they were so lazy.
More phone calls to the helpdesk to chase the matter up and not let it die naturally through lack of action. Got one helpdesk person who actually cared and rang me back a couple of times with their lack of progress. And they were aghast at the response I got previously when they stated they sometimes couldn't track all the items if they were busy - they said that shouldn't happen (of course it shouldn't). They even sent me a prepaid bag since my parcel hadn't actually been tracked as paid for. In the end, I indicated it probably had been delivered since it was a Trademe deal and they hadn't got back to me about a nondelivery and let the matter drop. But they never were able to prove my parcel had been delivered and I could have claimed on it had I wished to do so. I just wanted to make the lazy courier go out of their way to make enquiries about the parcel.

If they weren't the cheapest option and most convenient in my town, I would change courier...

They'd never get the postie sitting on his bike in the van.
If you're not allowed to use a phone while driving, there is probably a rule prohibiting riding a bike while driving a van.
